Across the Road With 3539
Meet Team 3539 Byting Bulldogs from Romeo, Michigan — a powerhouse team of 45 students who built Miley, their 2025 competition robot. True to its name, Miley is a “wrecking ball” on the field, combining incredible speed and agility with a swerve-drive system that lets all four wheels spin 360° for lightning-fast maneuvers. This season, the Bulldogs’ innovative design paid off big — earning them three Autonomous Awards, an Innovation in Control Award, and multiple top-three rankings across district and regional events, including a District Championship win on DTE Foundation Field. At the heart of Miley’s performance is the Byting Bulldogs’ deep understanding of control systems and their ability to get the most out of every component. Using CTR Electronics tools — including Kraken and Minion motors, the Talon FXS, CANCoder, CANdle, Pigeon 2.0, and Phoenix Pro software — the team built and tuned custom dashboards to perfect their control loops, tracking, and feedback systems. Team 3539’s success story is driven by collaboration, coding, and creativity — proof that when students apply their knowledge with the right tools, they can build something truly unstoppable.
